First and most important - Is to never leave your pillar candle burning unattended.
Be careful to keep your candle out of the reach of children and pets. If you have a tall candleholder sitting on the floor or fireplace, make sure that it cannot be pulled or knocked over while burning your candle.
Make sure that your candle is not burning next to something that is flammable, such as curtains.
Make sure to burn your candle on a heat resistant surface - such as a candleholder!
Do not burn your candle all the way to the bottom - Burn to approx 1" from bottom and then either melt the rest of your candle in a wax chip melter or toss it.
Do not burn your candle in a direct draft (ex: ceiling fans, vents, air currents) this will cause a pillar candle to burn unevenly and may cause spillage over the edge.
Burning & Misc. Tips:
It's best to burn your pillar for 2-3 hours at a time. If you burn it too long the sides will begin to warp and give your candle an odd shape. but if that's what you like, then that's ok! Just watch for spillage.
After burning your candle, wait for a few minutes for the liquid wax to cool and gently mold the upper rim down a tiny bit to keep the top of your candle almost even with your burn pool. Be very careful - do this very gently - be careful not to burn yourself - and do not force the wax to fold down - mold only the very plyable wax. If you're not sure how to achieve this step, it's best not to attempt it.
Keeping your wick trimmed is also a good idea. It will keep the flame from burning too wildly. It's usually recommended to keep it trimmed to 1/4".
If you do not plan to burn your candles, but use them for decoration, you can keep the outer scent revived by wiping your candle with a soft damp cloth, dry it off, wrap it in wax paper and put in a pantry or closet for a few days. When you bring it out, it should be more fragrant again! Studio 3B candles are fully scented through and through, so when the outer layer of wax starts loosing its scent (which is normal through evaporation), there's a lot more inside!
A very good tip for you to remember is something I mentioned above - If you do not have a wax chip melter, you may want to get one. When you finish burning your candle - there's still a lot of scent and wax left. Melt it! When you melt your candle (there are also candle melters out there), it releases a lot more scent at one time - so of course you get a stronger fragrance. I'll be offering more scent chips on my website also. It's an excellent idea to melt scent chips with the same fragrance as your candle at the same time you're burning your candle. Smells wonderful!
